Wildlife and Spring

Since I’ve been out here in Pittsburgh, it seems like I’ve seen a fair bit more wildlife wandering around. Perhaps it’s because I’m somewhat further in distance from the center of the city than I am normally in Indianapolis. That’s probably it.

While it isn’t that warm this week (mid 30’s), I’ve seen signs of spring. At least I did see the first robins I’ve seen in a long time.

Other wildlife I’ve noticed in the last few weeks include: deer, rabbits, raccoons, a woodpecker, and a blue bird about the size of a robin with a red breast that I haven’t seen before. I’m sure there are more I’ve missed, but those are what I remember. One of the families at church has a bunch of turkeys that like to wander on their property.

    That’s an Eastern Bluebird.

I figured it was something like that. I just hadn’t gone to try to find out. I actually got my binoculars out to look at it cause I was curious and hadn’t seen it before.
