Men’s Retreat Part 2

Today, Ken Smith spoke on our union with Christ, spiritually and ecclesiastically. Spiritually, our union is an individual relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit. We should be aware of His presence and His power. In discussing the power we have over sin through Him, Ken gave this quote:

The struggle that covenant children have is not so much that Jesus died for them on the Cross, but the problem usually focuses on what they are going to do with their life. – Dr. Coleman

Our union with Christ must also be found in the church setting…we must have both connection to Christ as a body of believers, as well as connection to each other. John 15:17 says that our lifetime goal should be to love one another. Some more quotations/comments:

We go to worship. Not “go to church.”

How can we exercise our spiritual gifts if we have broken lives/hearts?

Did you worship at a congregation, or did they have a special worship service for the Retreat?
