Today I’ve said goodbye to a friend of mine which I won’t see any more after tomorrow. At least that is the plan as I’ve been told. ::sniff::
The baby grand piano that has been in the sanctuary downstairs is moving to a new home. It’s a nice piano, even if it is somewhat out of tune. And its been an excuse for me to sit down and practice some (I haven’t practiced a whole lot since highschool). Apparently, when the church that used to meet here was dispersing its assets, they gave the piano to a church which was building a new facility. So it was being stored (and used) here until that church was ready for it. They called up last week and said they were ready for it. So the movers are scheduled to be here in the morning.
I just finished practicing on the piano and played one of my favorite Dennis Alexander pieces, Chanson Triste last. It’s a hopeful, melencholy piece. Fitting I hope.
